Late last week we rejoiced when Steve Grimmett received his new leg. We were distracted by this good news that we overlooked the announcement of Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper’s first booked show since the loss of his leg. London’s Metal Brew festival announced their return this Summer on July 15th with Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper as the headliner and you can grab your set of tickets here.
The event shared the following statement:
“Apologies for the delay but as you can see the amount of work that’s gone into our flyer has really slowed things up.
I know, if there was an award for being the slackest festival ever, we would win it, hands down!
So you’ve all been wondering if Metal Brew 2017 would go ahead. To be honest, so were we! It’s been tough this year but we hope it is worth the wait.
This year we are honoured to host Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper‘s UK come back show! As most of you will know, Steve was taken seriously ill in January this year whilst the band were in Ecuador. This resulted in Steve having most of his right leg amputated. Since then he has taught us all the meaning of perseverance and positivity and just six months later is ready to get back on stage. We hope you will join us in giving him a hero’s welcome for what is set to be an amazing show!
As if that wasn’t enough, we have the legendary, pioneers of folk metal, SKYCLAD. We can’t think of a better band to sing and dance to whilst drinking beers in the sun!
The forerunners of the UK Crust Punk, Agnosy have been ripping people’s faces off with their intense metallic righteous fury all over the place. Fiercely brutal but laced with menacing melody, Agnosy are going to unleash your inner rage in glorious fashion.
Vodun are assured to bring something different to every show they play. With their primal, spiritualised Doom-infused riff-rock, they are going to take you on one powerful journey.
Party-brawl Stoner bastards The Grudge are compelled by the power of the riff. Massive, muscular Metal complete with some tasty leads and rowdy vocals from #keithbarkerlegend.
KB is a household name!
Blind Haze unleash forth a gutsy and gritty full-frontal rock and roll. Ballsy British rock with tones of Motorhead, we’re mightily looking forward to their relentless rockathon.
These bands as so awesome we could just leave it there. We like to spoil you though so more will be announce in the coming weeks.
As ever, please share and invite your friends. We can’t wait to see you all again on our favourite day of the year!”
