Other than the fact that they’ve both been around for about the same time and hail from New York state, you wouldn’t think that Taking Back Sunday and Every Time I Die have that much in common. The Venn diagram of ETID’s metallic hardcore and Taking Back Sunday’s emo certainly has some degree of overlap, but it’s not like the two bands are a super perfect fit with the exception of a very specific type of music fan.
That’s beside the point, as the two bands have announced a tour, with Every Time I Die serving as direct support for TBS. There’s probably going to be a lot of confused emo fans and also some people that will probably leave as soon as Every Time I Die walk offstage, but open-minded fans and emo-loving hardcore fans will enjoy themselves. Modern Chemistry and All Get Out will alternate halves of the tour as the opener.
