It wasn’t too long ago when Revolver Magazine announced they’d be holding their own award show that will be held on December 13 at Webster Hall. While some have questioned a handful of their award nominees, the magazine has also announced their top twenty metal albums of 2016. It’s not that surprising, given that everyone from Bravewords and Consequence of Sound’s to Decibel Magazine have announced their lists. Given the mainstream focus of the magazine, it wasn’t all that surprising to see a handful of predictable rock contenders, if that term even exists. That being said, with no offense to those bands, it’s hard to imagine Volbeat, Zakk Wylde and Alter Bridge making appearances on anyone else’s list of essential 2016 albums. You can check here to found out why they believe such artists are the top twenty as the entire list is written out below, which there are quite a few good ones on there as well.
