It’s not over for another 12 hours or so, but we can’t wait for the election season to end. GWAR share that sentiment, and apparently, The A.V. Club’s AV Undercover does as well. The seventh season of the popular segment finds GWAR once again on the show. They keep coming back because they’re such a popular draw. They crushed the competition in 2012 with their Kansas cover and have been invited back every year since. This year, they showed up and decided not to play by Undercover rules. Instead of showing up and selecting a song from the list, which narrows as other bands cross songs off the list, this time they just showed up and covered AC/DC’s “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)” with a bonus intro of Boston’s Hammond-tastic “Foreplay.”
Why release this on Election Day? Well, if you’ve seen GWAR before, you know that they have no problems killing celebrities onstage. It’s not that big of a surprise to say that both Donald and Hillary show up to brawl. Who wins? We’re not telling you – you’ll just have to watch and see. GWAR, however would like you to know that they’re releasing a Black Friday picture disc featuring two of their past AV Undercover sessions, Their Billy Ocean “Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car” cover that goes into The Who’s “Baba O’Riley” is on the “Oderus” side and their cover of the Pet Shop Boys’ “West End Girls” that goes into The Jim Carroll Band’s “People Who Died” is on the “Blothar” side.
