When we were first emailed the above picture by a friend, we thought it was a great photoshop job from a Hard Times article. Then we saw it again, from ABC News, and were shocked and psyched to find out that it actually happened. A pair of newlyweds on their honeymoon. The appropriately-named John Awesome and his fiancee Nydia Hernandez, were on their homeymoon shoot in the woods in Holy Jim Canyon, CA and they ran into a black metal band, Coldvoid, who were also doing a photo shoot, Emperor style:
“During the last part of the session, we noticed a few guys with some corpse paint makeup on sitting at a nearby bench blaring out some black metal music,” Awesome, 34, of Orange County, told ABC News. “We just randomly thought it would be a funny idea if we could get them to be a part of our engagement shoot. So we approached them and asked and they more than happy to accept! Super nice people. I seriously can’t make this stuff up.”
No offense to the couple, but this blows their other themed shoot from earlier in the day, a Forrest Gump one, out of the water. And even if it does turn out that this is just something engineered to go viral, it appears to be working as Coldvoid have over 2,300 likes on Facebook, which is up significantly from the under 300 that they had when we first heard about this. They also rushed to get some music out on Bandcamp, which they did yesterday.
