It’s hard to find a band that’s a worldwide phenomenon, but having performed at Rock on the Range in the middle of America this past weekend, Japanese trio Babymetal (and, of course, their backing musicians) were the subject of an ABC News Australia piece. That’s spanning three continents right there, which would certainly qualify them as a band that has a global following. And with the band’s self-titled debut album officially out in North America now, look for the buzz to keep growing. The most noteworthy thing about the piece is how many Babymetal fans are young teenage boys that wear corpse paint. One other question, Does the “ABC” in “ABC News Australia” stand for Australian Broadcast Corporation?
