There’s nothing easy about touring. As exciting as being on the road can be, there’s a lot of sitting in a van, sleeping uncomfortably, and stage mishaps. And then there’s mysterious emergency surgery. While we’re not quite sure what that entails or who it effects, The Black Dahlia Murder have bowed out of next week’s Canadian shows on the Max and Iggor Cavalera Return to Roots tour. While cryptic, they left the following post on Facebook:
It’s not certain whether it’s someone in the band getting surgery, or a loved one. Regardless, the band’s first show back on the road will be at the Knotfest Mexico on October 15th. Best wishes for whoever it is, and it’s encouraging that they’ll only miss three shows. Speaking of Knotfest, Slipknot’s Jim Root is currently recovering from back surgery, making him the first member of Slipknot to have back surgery in a few months, following Corey Taylor’s postponement of Slipknot’s tour for the same thing. More specifically, it’s disk surgery that he’s already recovering for. The guitarist shared an Instagram photo of himself giving the finger from a hospital bed, stating what he’d gone through.
