Ghost-201512

While there’s been plenty of talk about who Ghost’s Papa Emeritus might be under the papal vestment, if there’s one thing we know about the rest of the Nameless Ghouls, it’s, well, not much. However, it’s been reported that their bassist on the Popestar tour, which kicked off on Friday, is a female. Footage of the band playing “Square Hammer” live for the first time ever was captured in Rochester, NY was captured on Friday, and with a lot of the fan-filmed video focusing on the bassist, you can see that it’s definitely someone on the smaller side, regardless of their sex. There are already rumors of who it might be, with for White Zombie bassist Sean Yseult, who’d been pictured with the band backstage in 2015, as one rumor. Swedish guitarist Linnea Olsson, formerly of The Oath and more recently Grave Pleasures, is another name being thrown around, which might make sense because she’s Swedish as well. Another less exciting rumor is that it’s another American female musician. We’ll let you know more when we find out, which may be never.

Theprp reports that on Ghost’s last tour, rhythm guitarist Omega wasn’t on the tour, and bassist Water took over Alpha’s role with the band playing to a backing bass track. That’s a little confusing, in that a) the Nameless Ghouls have names? and b) Ghost play to backing tracks? OK, maybe we knew that the band performed to backing tracks, since some of the backing vocals seem a little too precise, but still.
