Hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Pulpo Negro (Spanish for “Black Octopus,” quite brutal) are absolutely swinging for the fences on their debut record, El Arte de Matar.(“The Art Of Killing”) These guys should hang out with Crowbar, not a compliment given lightly, either; these are some big, sludgy southern metal riffs to start with, but the all-important swaggering groove usually reserved to the NOLA sludge elite is on full display here.
