jessehughesEagles of Death Metal have been through a lot. Having seen 89 of their fans assassinated in Paris in a terrorist attack is something no one should have to go through. And while the band have since returned to touring and even gone back to Paris to finish their show that was tragically interrupted by a hail of gunfire at the Bataclan. And while investigations are still going on, frontman Jesse Hughes suggested during an interview on the Fox Business Network with former MTV VJ Kennedy that the Bataclan’s security guards might have had something to do with the attacks:

“When I first got to the venue and walked in, I walked past the dude who was supposed to be the security guard for the backstage. He didn’t even look at me. I immediately went to the promoter and said, ‘Who’s that guy? I want to put another dude on,’ and he goes, ‘well some of the other guards aren’t here yet,’ and eventually I found out that six or so wouldn’t show up at all.”

Hughes would not make a definitive statement out of respect for the police investigation but said, “It seems rather obvious they had a reason not to show up.”

That’s a pretty serious allegation, but again, Hughes has seen some shit, and if he thought something was off before everything happened, he might have a point. The second half of his interview will air tonight. If you’ll remember, Hughes also stated that gun control wouldn’t have helped the situation at all.
