The Ghost Inside were in a horrific bus accident last month that cost them the life of their tour bus driver and the driver of the other vehicle. All of the band members were hospitalized as well, initially in critical condition. A crowdfunding effort launched just after the accident has raised nearly $150,000 with Bring me the Horizon donating $10k. It’s also led bands like Bleeding Through to reunite for charity shows, proving that the metalcore band was well liked by their peers. What one wouldn’t expect is for the band’s label to get involved, but Epitaph owner Brett Gurewitz has done something that’s really touching, offering all profits from the band’s catalog worldwide towards the medical bills. Gurewitz posted an open letter to the band’s fans via Epitaph’s Facebook page, and by putting healing above profits, might be the most stand-up move we’ve seen from a label.
