If you’re a tech-death fan and love Obscura, you already know about the upcoming new album from the German titans titled Akroasis set to be released this coming February, but we have more news from the band, this time, involving the addition of a new member.

Obscura just announced their newest lead guitarist, Rafael Trujillo, to their ranks. Bassist Linus Klausenitzer comments about the young musician:

Rafael is young and full of motivation. His great guitar tone, his speed and his tasteful choice of scales are just a little insight into his musical skills. We are very proud to have him on board and look forward to share the stages with him on the upcoming touring cycle.

Trujillo just got out of Munich’s Guitar Institute and specialized in Jazz but the guy has a knack for metal as you can see on the video below playing some The Faceless, which considerably difficult to play if you ask me.

Obscura will release their newest offering on February 6th via Relapse Records and can be preordered here and digitally pre-ordered here. The only thing we’re missing now is a tour announcement, which we definitely need considering they were forced to cancel their US appearance on the Summer Slaughter a few months ago. Let’s wait and see.
