Devil You Know have just released the first song from their upcoming album, They Bleed Red, which is due out November 6th on Nuclear Blast. This is the band’s second album, following the release of 2014’s The Beauty of Destruction.

Speaking to Metal Hammer, drummer John Sankey explained a bit about “Stay of Execution:”

“Stay Of Execution was the last song that was written for our new album. I wanted us to have a track that was fast, brutal and really slamming with an unconventional song structure. Francesco (Artusato, guitarist) and I had some demos that we hadn’t used yet, so I tore a few of those unfinished tracks apart and pieced together the coolest sections to create this song.”

The song was partially written in an odd location – a shopping mall. “I wrote the main riff while walking in a mall somewhere while on tour,” said Artusato, “I was humming it into my phone so I would remember it for later.”

Devil You Know will be touring in Europe around the time of the release of They Bleed Red. They’ll be supporting headliners Five Finger Death Punch, along with Papa Roach on a 15 date tour, ending in London.
