nachtmystium_blake_judd_arrestedYesterday, Nachtmystium frontman Blake Judd went before the Cook County court on charges of unauthorized control of property not exceeding $500, a misdemeanor. Not much has changed from earlier this week when he was arrested, but his next court date has been moved to November 1. He’s still being held on $25,000 bail, so it’s unlikely that he’ll be out of jail before the next date. With this latest development, we have no choice but to move on without Nachtmystium at our Metal Insider CMJ showcase, coming up this Wednesday (16) at Europa. Details are forthcoming, but we’re still working to ensure the best show possible.

The show already has a stunning lineup, with Byzantine, Black Anvil, Ramming Speed and Vattnet Viskar playing. CMJ recently ran down the “5 Metal Bands You Have to See” during the convention, and we’re proud to say that both Black Anvil and Ramming Speed made the list. Byzantine will be playing their first NYC-area show in six years, and up and coming black metal band Vattnet Viskar are receiving a lot of attention for their debut full length, Sky Swallower. Tickets are available for the showcase here.
