Yesterday was a momentous occasion in the hardcore community, as Bad Brains frontman H.R. had the brain surgery he’s needed for a while now. The singer had been suffering from a neurobiological disorder that gave him severe headaches for years. SUNCT caused random and intense headaches, and while there’s no known cure, the operation he had could lessen the severity. The doctor had successfully performed the surgery over 200 times, and according to the producers of his documentary, things went well for H.R.

Apparently, there’s a two month recovery period before they know if it’s completely worked. Of course, his crowdfunding campaign is still ongoing, and while it’s raised more than the $15,000 it was seeking over the past 11 months, a two-month recovery suggests that he can always use more. Read about it here.
