From all accounts, the Dark Roots of Thrash II tour is going pretty well. At least that’s what Shattered Sun vocalist Marcus Leal told us in an interview he gave last week at Pops in Sauget, IL. In fact, the tour, which also features Testament and Exodus, might be going a little too well. At least that’s what a report from Illinois’ Herald News alleges, stating an investigation has been launched after a club has been oversold. Joliet venue Mojoes apparently sold 917 tickets for their Saturday, April 11 show, which is a nice showing. In fact, it’s about 417 tickets too nice, as the club has a capacity of 500.

The Herald News reports that Mojoes was doing the old “one person leaves, another gets in” maneuver, and when police showed up one hour after the show started, they found 171 people waiting in line. The club didn’t comment to the paper, but apparently, they indicated that refunds would be offered to those that couldn’t get int. A summary report stated that a detective for the liquor commissioner would recommend that Mojoes be closed for seven days, with the liquor commissioner stating that the club had been shut down in the past.
