We’re really looking forward to seeing Devildriver on the road with Arch Enemy, Skeletonwitch, and Chthonic this coming fall. However, it looks like Devildriver already have another major tour booked. In fact, depending on how you read Devildriver singer Dez Fafara’s tweet, you could say that they’re booked for a gigan(tic)tour.
Late last night, Fafara tweeted the following:
“Ok DEVILDRIVER ‘Wretched’ get ready for some BIG TOUR announcements in the DD CAMP! For The US & Canada First of next YEAR! HUGE Bands!”
While the tweet doesn’t give us too much to go on, we can’t help but speculate as to what “big tour” Fafara is hinting at. Seeing that he mentions how it’ll include multiple huge bands, our first guess is that he’s referring to Megadeth’s Gigantour. Dave Mustaine himself said last month that three of four bands have already been booked for the touring festival’s return in 2012. Plus, bassist Dave Ellefson told us at Metal Insider (in an interview we just posted) that the tour would start right after the first of next year, which matches up with the time line Fafara offered in his tweet. It also makes sense since Megadeth and Devildriver are labelmates at Roadrunner Records.
However, we can’t stress enough that this is merely speculation. Who knows, Farara could very easily be talking about another “big tour” with different “huge bands.” Although, it would be awesome to see Megadeth and Devildriver on the same bill.
