Black Sabbath haven’t explained why they canceled their Ozzfest Japan appearance, so of course rumors started to fly. The last time Black Sabbath cancelled a performance and Ozzy and friends filled in was 2012, when guitarist Tony Iommi left tour to get treatment for lymphoma.

Thankfully this is not the reason this time, as confirmed by Iommi himself via Facebook:

“Thank you for all the enquiries about my health, very kind. I’m not sure how the rumour of my being unwell started as I was away on holiday! Once you’ve had something like lymphoma the fear that it will return never leaves, all I can say is that right now I’m fine and have regular blood tests.”

In a recent Billboard report, Black Sabbath reps said there’s been talk about a farewell tour, “though nothing has been officially confirmed by the band.”
