Sourvein-group-shot-2Sourvein have mastered the arts of doom for over two decades and that kind of seniority is reflected on their music and the amount of people willing to collaborate with them in any way possible. That’s why, Sourvein joined forces with many metal musicians to pitch in their talent for their upcoming album Aquatic Occult.

The record is scheduled to be unleashed on April 8th via Metal Blade Records but there’s a new single “Ocypuss” out featuring Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe and Corrosion of Conformity’s Mike Dean.

Blythe commented about the record:

“Aquatic Occult promises to be heavier than a two-ton anchor dropped into an antique porcelain bathtub– it’s going to break things. This record sees Sourvein at their most musical and focused of any recording to date.”

The list of guest appearances include Stig Miller (Amebix), Keith Kirkum (ex-Weedeater), Dean Berry (Iron Monkey), Dave Capps (All Tore Up), Chris Holcombe (Subrig Destroyer), Joel Martin (Subrig Destroyer), and Kevin Rochelle (Sea Of Tyrants). Sourvein’s frontman T-Roy added the following about his latest effort:

“Finally man, finally, my years of hard work have paid off. Aquatic Occult is going to bring the truth. The lyrics are reality to me; I don’t write about cars or chicks or horror movies, I write about the sacrifice and struggle, all the stuff I saw growing up and what I see now. But I want it to be positive, to let people know that there is a way out of bad times and tough situations.”

Aquatic Occult is produced by Mike Dean and mastered by Brad Boatright (Sleep, Yob).
