Friday night’s Mastodon show in Birmingham, AL was a special one. In the midst of their tour with Eagles of Death Metal and Russian Circles, the Alabama show at Iron City is as close as the tour is coming to their native Georgia, and with singer/guitarist Brent Hinds having grown up in nearby Helena, it was a hometown show for him. Not only was his mom in attendance, but he also took the opportunity to propose to his girlfriend Raisa onstage. A reddit user snapped a picture of the big moment, then his grandmother joined him onstage to dance while the band played.
