We’re still more than nine months away from the next Maryland Deathfest. And yet with bands like Carcass, Venom, Pig Destroyer, Righteous Pigs, Pentagam, and many others already confirmed, Maryland Deathfest XI is shaping up to be one of the sickest festivals of 2013. But wait till you hear who were added to the bill this past weekend.
The latest additions to Maryland Deathfest XI include Ihsahn, Exodus, Benediction, Iniquity and Glorior Belli. However, the festival promises to announce additional headliners (along with the rest of the bill) sometime in September. In other words, there are still even more big bands left to be announced.
As great as this lineup is shaping up to be, you’d be right to say “Cool…but where the hell is next year’s Maryland Deathfest going to take place?” Well, it turns out that organizers still aren’t sure about that. Along with announcing the new additions to the bill, organizers had the following to say regarding the festival’s relocation:
“Regarding the venue information for next year, we are still sorting through our options and weighing out the pros and cons of each. There’s a chance that we’ll be ready to post the info before the end of August, but be aware that this could trickle into the first half of September. As of now, we do intend on keeping the fest in Baltimore close to hotels.”
Organizers also noted that tickets will likely go on sale by early October, with the full lineup being revealed by the end of September. Regardless of where it is, Maryland Deathfest XI will definitely take place from May 23 to May 26, 2013. You can check out a rundown of bands confirmed so far after the jump.
