Despite claiming that they wouldn’t do any more shows after their 2008 reunion, At The Gates are doing just that. The Gothenburg death metal legends will be performing once again this Summer at select festivals.

The band released the following message on their website:

“At the gates will do a limited run of select shows in 2011. Simply put, we had the time of our lives during the 2008 reunion and have decided to do a couple of more shows. Although we won’t be touring extensively, and we stick to the initial promise of not making anymore music. Please check our homepage and myspace for updates.”

So they’ve made it clear for fans not to expect more than just a few shows. Then again, as our friends at Metal Sucks point out, it wouldn’t be the first time they went against their word. Whether At The Gates is planning more or simply playing for fun, this should still excite fans who possibly missed them last time. Well, European fans. More dates are expected to be announced, but U.S. fans will probably be left out again.

Here are the dates announced so far:

June 17, 2011 – Metal Town, Gothenburg, Sweden
July 22, 2011 – Tuska Open Air, Helsinki, Finland
