Flying Cupid, the solo project of Abhiruk Patowary, a musician based in New Delhi, has teamed up with Metal Insider to premiere a playthrough video for his song “Afterlife.” The video was shot in his studio and only took about an hour and a half to shoot and edit. Patowary used an Aristides 060 guitar with bare-knuckle aftermath pickups, plugged it into his interface, and ran the guitar tone through Neural DSP Soldano SLO 100.

Patowary explains:

“The playthrough was shot in my studio in New Delhi, the whole thing from shoot to edit just took an hour and a half or so. The rig I used is Aristides 060 with bare knuckle aftermath pickups which was plugged to my interface. I was running Neural DSP Soldano SLO 100 for the guitar tone.”

On the song, he adds:

“‘Afterlife’ is about finding the meaning of life and death while being in an altered state of consciousness. The lyrics of the song also emphasizes further about the realization that the paradigm of heaven and hell doesn’t exist, only deep restful sleep until the end of time. In terms of the musical influences, we stuck to our modern metal core zone while experimenting with synthesizers to create a lush soundscape as the canvas.”
