Believe us when we say that we’ve been trying to stay away from covering Whitney Houston’s death. However, we thought it was worth mentioning that Chris Cornell paid tribute to the late pop singer by performing an acoustic rendition of “I Will Always Love You.” The tribute took place during a benefit show for President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign in San Francisco last night, February 16.

Fan filmed video of Soundgarden singer performing Houston’s biggest hit (which was actually a cover of Dolly Parton’s song) can be seen above. While we don’t want to overbear you with more comments about Whitney Houston, we have to admit that Cornell’s rendition is very well done.
