04) Autopsy – “Rabid Funeral”

Autopsy have welcomed a gruesome new era with the release of their latest album, Ashes, Organs Blood & Crypts, which arrived the Friday before Halloween, on October 27th via Peaceville. To celebrate both the record and Halloween, these death metal giants premiered a video for the album opener, “Rabid Funeral,” on Saturday (28th). The band collaborated with Rabidog Films, Murray Media, Haunt Manor, and the Butcher Shop FX studio to create their horrifying video paying homage to cult classics like House of a 1000 Corpses, Wrong Turn, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Chris Reifert, expressing gratitude to the maniacs at Rabidog, envisions this film as something they would have rented, watched repeatedly, and returned with certain scenes stretched from excessive rewinding. It’s a fright night promising a unique blend of Grindhouse terror, the perfect way to close Metal Insider’s top four horror-inspired videos to celebrate this year’s Halloween.

Reinfert expressed:

“Thanks to the maniacs at Rabidog, we have a sick little film to accompany our audio assault on your eyes, ears and twisted mind itself. This is exactly the kind of movie we would have rented back in the day, watched over and over and returned with certain spots stretched out from excessive rewinding and rewatching. We probably would have written a song about it as well, but now we don’t have to!”
