You can have Future Islands – as far as PBS is concerned, their breakout band of SXSW was Austin’s Power Trip. A few weeks ago in a hysterical, albeit fake, ‘pit report,‘ Everything But the News’ Steve Goldbloom attempted to cover the band with disastrous results. Now a proper follow-up, “Behind the Metal with Power Trip,” is out. It finds Goldbloom visiting the band at home where they eat salad, do yoga and watch Masterpiece Theater. Pretty metal, right? It’s funny, but nowhere near as lulz-y as the initial report. Bonus points to Power Trip for performing with a mic with the PBS logo cube on it though.
