For those that grew up during the 80s/early 90s, most likely heard or used one of the following: Commodore 64 computer, Atari, Nintendo (NES), or Sega gaming system. These consoles and computers featured iconic 8-bit games including Space Invaders and Donkey Kong, and are still talked about alongside newer ones like Final Fantasy XV. One could argue that these were the best games ever created, even better than The Legend of Zelda in 2017. With that said, bands have emerged such as Machinae Supremacy, who were all inspired by these classic games, and play chiptune msuic. Secondly, there’s a YouTube channel called 8 bit Universe, that cover popular songs into old-school 8-bit tunes.
We happened to find a few tracks from KISS, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Killswitch Engage, Hollywood Undead and more that we thought were incredible.
