Many Eyes, the new band led by metalcore giant Keith Buckley, has released their second single, “Mystic Cord.” The grungy hardcore anthem delves into the subject of confronting trauma, emphasizing the idea that overcoming the past requires distancing oneself from those who have caused harm. The song came with an accompanying visual created by Jake Johnston and 3-D visual artist Matthew Collamore.
Buckley comments:
“Lyrically, the song is about untangling ourselves from the traditions that bind us to past trauma. I hoped to express the idea that it’s not enough to just put up a boundary, there has to be the deeper, more difficult work of separating one’s entire life path from the path of those who harm us.”
