If there’s one complaint about Metallica since The Black Album (actually, there are many!), it’s that all of their albums since then have been long. Like really long. While Hardwired… To Self Destruct is two discs, it’s really only a minute longer than Load, and every album since has been at least 75 minutes long. The consensus on Hardwired… To Self Destruct is that it might be able to use a little editing as well, at least that’s what early reviews seem to think. That’s where Paschalis Theotokis comes in. The YouTuber has already played 99 Metallica songs in 10 minutes, and for your listening pleasure, now he’s condensed Hardwired… To Self Destruct from 80 minutes to two minutes.
It’s a lot of fun, in that if you’ve been listening to the album since Friday (or before, you naughty torrenters!), this will serve as a quick recap of it. He also films himself in a room with a white background with camera effects that mimic the color filters on the album cover. It’s definitely two minutes well spent.
