It seems like nowadays, there are plenty of comedians tied in with music. In particular, Brian Posehn, Big Jay Oakerson, Don Jamieson and Jim Florentine are pretty closely associated with the metal scene. That wasn’t the case 20 years ago, until Sam Kinison brought a metal sensibility to his comedy. In addition to his wired persona and honest stories about alcohol and drugs, his trademark scream (sampled by Anthrax on “I’m The Man”) definitely hit home with a lot of metal bands, and he found himself hanging with artists like Motley Crue and Slash. With Comedy Central set to release a DVD and air a special, Back From Hell: A Tribute To Sam Kinison, we thought it might be time to revisit an old classic: his video of “Wild Thing.” Any video that has Bud Bundy and Ozzy Osbourne in the same clip is OK by us.
