Love it or hate it, Disturbed’s cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” is a hit. It’s been #1 at active rock for three weeks, and has given last year’s Immortalized a new boost. Last night, the band brought a 15-piece orchestra to Conan to perform the song. It was pretty understated, like the album version, bringing David Draiman’s voice front and center. In all, it’s the best Simon & Garfunkel cover we’ve heard since Queensryche covered “Scarborough Fair,” or Nevermore’s version of “Sound of Silence.”
