Remember Metallica’s video game? No, not Guitar Hero: Metallica, we’re talking about Damage Inc. the driving adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic world. If you don’t remember it, that’s perfectly understandable, as it was never released. Announced via a trailer included on St. Anger, the game was supposed to become available on PS2, Xbox and PC in 2005, but it never made it out of development. On website PtoPonline, host Andrew Borman got to play a level of the ill-fated game and explains it via YouTube.

As far as the game itself, it looks a lot like other games of its ilk, notably Twisted Metal. But unlike those games, the driver was able to step out of his car, Grand Theft Auto style, and take another car nearby. It terms of Metallica, the level that the host got to play, which wasn’t fully developed, doesn’t appear to have anything resembling Metallica in it. Artist Calum Alexander Watt unveiled some concept art he did from the game five years back, but none of it appears to have made it to the game, which looks good, but unspectacular.
