It was eleven months ago almost to the day that The Ghost Inside suffered a horrific bus accident. That may have marked the end of a less strong band, especially after drummer Andrew Tkaczyk lost a leg (and dislocated a shoulder, and got fractures on his ribs, spine and hip). But the metal and hardcore community rallied around them, and they’ve even been given a slot on the 2017 Vans Warped Tour. That’s a lot to work towards, and the band are continuing to make strides. Yesterday, Tkaczyk posted some footage of himself on Instagram playing drums. It’s obvious that he’s still got a ways to go, but he seems to both be enjoying himself and also giving himself physical therapy by playing. It’s pretty encouraging.
Started off playing a little "Denial" influenced groove by Sevendust @morgan7d but then it just turned into nonsensical madness! Tons of slop in here but oh well. Trying to strengthen that right hip, and I've got a long way to go. I've been so excited to try this little Splash/Spiral stacker! Leave it to me to bend it the first time I ever play it. Thank you so much @zildjiancompany for the support and of course thanks to all my people @sjcdrums @vicfirth @remopercussion @64audio
