Almost a year after the passing of their frontman Mitch Lucker, Suicide Silence are rumored to have found a new singer, according to Lambgoat . Anonymous sources reportedly told the website that the new singer will be Eddie Hermida of deathcore outfit All Shall Perish. While there has been no official announcement, Lambgoat appears pretty confident that the tip is reliable.
But this isn’t the first time hints of a replacement for Lucker have surfaced. Rumors began just six months after the singer’s fatal motorcylce accident that the band had found a new vocalist. However, remaining members stated that at that time they were in no rush to move on.
Only time will tell if the information is hearsay or that Suicide Silence is actually moving ahead. Maybe Hermida has been the chosen one all along and the band has just had to go through their own mourning process to deal with the change. Whether Suicide Silence fans have gone through their own process enough to embrace the potential replacement is a different story.
UPDATE: Suicide Silence has just posted a minute long sample of them playing “You Only Live Once” with a new singer. While the singer’s identity remains hidden (though the cover photo on Hermida’s Facebook page implies a lot), the video does confirm that Suicide Silence will be moving on following Lucker’s death. An official announcement is expected to come soon, but for now watch the re-recorded sample of “You Only Live Once” below.
