It’s been over 20 years since Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain committed suicide and cemented his status into rock folklore. Since then, Nirvana have pretty much maintained popularity, and Cobain has been the focus of at least two documentaries. For some reason, 22 years later, Seattle police have decided to release photos of the weapon Cobain used to take his own life. Seattle’s cold case Decective Mike Ciesynski was shown holding the gun in five different photos that the police department posted on their website yesterday.
Why would a cold case cop hold the gun that was very clearly used in a suicide? And why would the police department choose to put the pictures up yesterday? There are enough conspiracy theories about his death in the first place. Courtney Love has said that the gun was melted down. And there are probably a bunch of people that will argue that the shotgun is too long for the singer to have killed himself with. So the appearance of the photos will probably just add fuel to the fire.
