New Faith No More album gets a name, release date

Posted by on February 10, 2015

Faith No More have announced the title of their first album since 1997s Album of the Year. The record will be titled Sol Invictus, and it will be released on May 19th (nailed it!), on Reclamation Recordings and distributed by Ipecac.

The band made the annoucement via their Facebook and Twitter social media channels, with just the ominous photo (at left) and no furthur details. According to Wikipedia Sol Invictus was, “the official sun god of the later Roman Empire,” which seems quite the opposite of this latest band photo, but they seem to know what they’re doing. After all, they recorded the new album in their Oakland, CA rehearsal space, and bassist Billy Gould produced it.

Their good fortune has spread to their recently announced US tour, which sold out pretty quick. The band assures us that they’ll be more shows announced later.
