As some of you may know, tomorrow is Record Store Day and every year there’s a musician or band named ambassador of the event and this year the honor went to Metallica. Aside from hugely endorsing independent record stores to remain in business, they decided to take things more seriously and will stream a live show for free for everyone to watch.
Metallica will stream their performance tomorrow in Berkley, CA via Facebook to commemorate the annual event. They band said the following about the live webcast:
This year we have the distinct honor of being the official ambassadors for Record Store Day and it’s only fitting that we celebrate by playing live in one of our favorite local hangs, Rasputin Music in Berkeley, CA this Saturday, April 16. A few lucky Fifth Members and Rasputin customers have already won their tickets, but we know that many of you might still like to join us in the comfort of your own living room, so we’ve teamed up with our friends at Facebook to bring the show to you via a Facebook Live stream.
Be on the looks for their live stream tomorrow at around 4:00 PM PDT on their official Facebook page and make sure to order their deluxe boxsets for the reissues of Kill ‘Em All and Ride The Lightning. The band promises that tomorrow’s show will have a special set involving the reissues so you’ve been warned.
On top of that, you can get your hands to any and every release set to be out tomorrow at your local store, which you can find a list of right here.
