Metallica announce huge North American arena tour

Posted by on February 26, 2018

We’d pretty much assumed that the thing Metallica was teasing on Friday would be another tour, and that’s exactly what’s happening. The band this morning announced a 34-date tour starting in September that will take them through March of 2019. Unlike last Summer’s tour, which found them playing stadiums, this one is more of an arena tour, hitting mostly secondary and tertiary markets. This will be the first time they’ve played some of these markets in years (almost 30 for Grand Forks, ND). Tickets will go on sale this Friday (March 2nd) at 10am local time. More info can be found here).

This time, instead of Avenged Sevenfold and Volbeat, you’ll be getting… Jim Breuer. The comedian and a DJ will be hosting what’s being called the Light It Up pre-party, which will presumably include stand-up, classic rock, and imitations of James, Rob Halford and Brian Johnson. Also of note, like last Summer’s tour, every ticket purchase will come with a copy of Hardwired… To Self Destruct, so look for that to sell some more copies.

Here’s where you’ll be able to catch them:
