Baroness taking Earthling on the road for fall tour

Posted by on November 4, 2015

Baroness will be releasing their fourth studio album, Purple, on December 18th, and have already released a music video for “Chlorine & Wine” (watch it here). They announced they’d be hitting the road later this month, and playing right up until the release of this new album. Though the tour is mostly sold out, they announced today that they’d be bringing Earthling on the road.

Said Baroness on this upcoming tour.

“I cannot tell you how thrilled we are to play out again. It’s amazing to see how little our US routes have changed over after more than a decade’s worth of touring. At the risk of sounding cliche, you have to understand that without the overwhelming support of your local music scenes, we simply could not have lasted this long as a touring band. It certainly wouldn’t be worth the amount of wear-and-tear we’ve shouldered the past several years, or all the lineup changes, or the time away from home and loved ones. While the musical landscape has shifted tremendously since Baroness began in 2003, we must acknowledge that the continued support of local audiences, independent music sellers, and indie promoters has NOT.”

Earthling play a style of blackened thrash with loads of riffs, blast beats, and spacey doom dynamics, which is a bit different than present-day Baroness, so crowds will be in for a treat. They hail from from Harrisonburg, VA, and last released Dark Path in 2013, which you can hear below.
