Anyone Going To SXSW? Here’s A Great Reason To

Posted by on February 11, 2010

Headed to SXSW? The music industry’s spring break in Austin is coming up in a little over a month (March 17-20) , and the first must-see metal event of the convention has been announced. High on Fire and Priestess will be headlining Action! PR’s showcase. After having heard High On Fire’s new album, Snakes For the Divine, we’re totally sold.

What, you haven’t heard it yet? Well maybe because it won’t be out for another few weeks. However, Spin is currently streaming the crushing title track, which you can listen to here.  Trust me, go there and listen. If you don’t want to do a shot of whiskey and drop kick a toddler after hearing it, then you’re not a true American.

The Gates of Slumber, Bison BC, Naam, and Zoroaster will also be playing at the show, which takes place at Mohawk on March 17. Even if you don’t have a pricey badge, you can get in. Oh, and like I said before, even though the show flyer says High on Fire is out now, it’s not out until 2/23.
