When you hear the word “quilt,” you probably think of tea and Sarah McLachlan. Artist Ben Venom is looking to change that. Lately, the artist has been making heavy metal quilts using concert t-shirts. His latest quilt, “see you on the other side,” is a massive 13′ by 15′ quilt that was made with 125 metal t-shirts. If you’re anywhere near San Francisco, it’ll be showing at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts starting tomorrow, but it’s so large that it’s being displayed on its side. Look at some more detailed shots and shots of it being made after the jump. You’ll almost definitely recognize some shirts you’ve worn in the past.
