Former Spiritbox bassist Bill Crook has passed away. The news was shared by his friend and former bandmate, Kai Turmann, who announced it on social media with permission from Crook’s mother.

Crook was a member of Spiritbox from 2018 to 2022 and contributed to their debut album, Eternal Blue. Crook was soon replaced by ex-As I Lay Dying Josh Gilbert.

Turmann shared the following message:

“Hi everyone. I have some absolutely devastating news to share. I’m so profoundly sad to say that our dear friend Bill Crook has passed away. He was a friend to so many, and a dear friend to me since we were children. Bill was, and is, loved by so many people, and I’m so incredible sorry to have to share this devastating information with you. There will be many words and many tears, but for now I just need to get the terrible news out. Im so sorry. I love you all. I love you Bill.”

In a separate post, Turmann mentioned Crook’s two cats, seeking to rehome them together, stating:

“*Urgent help needed* Bill left behind 3 really wonderful cats. 2 boys Jaspy and Buggy who are both turning 10, and Sally the girl cat who is younger (I think 4 or 5). They’re so sweet and Bill adored his cats. We do not want them split up. Time is of the essence we need to get them rehomed. Can anyone possibly take in 3 black cats? Bill handled them and cuddled them like crazy so they’re all very tame, sweet and loving. I know it’s a long shot. Please re-share. We don’t want Bills cats going to a shelter if we can help it. Thank you”

Our thoughts go to Crook’s family and friends during this difficult time.
