This isn’t official yet, as the toxicology reports still aren’t in, but TMZ is generally pretty good at getting information before it’s officially released, and they’re reporting a source of theirs saying that Chris Cornell had fresh track marks on his arm when his body was discovered last Thursday. The report says the track marks were “obvious.”

Of course, Cornell’s wife Vicky said that Cornell told her that he took “an extra Ativan or two,” but this would obviously go beyond that. Yesterday’s report from Cornell’s longtime tour manager and house engineer stated that he thought Cornell was “high” and “fucked up” during the band’s last performance, and while the singer had been sober, he’d admittedly struggled with drugs and depression in the past. Again, we won’t know until the toxicology tests come back, but if it turns out he was using drugs again it’s an even sadder end to an already tragic story.
