Dope to release live album, launch crowdfunding campaign

Dope-band-2001Remember Dope? Just barely, right? It’s been a while since they’ve released anything (2009, actually). Their biggest claim to fame was when they signed to Epic about 15 years ago, and they may be most popular for their cover of Dead or Alive’s ’80s hit “You Spin Me Round (LIke A Record).” Other than that, their biggest hist could have been the song “Die MF Die,” so it makes sense that today they announced they’re releasing a live album, as part of their “Die Mother Fucker Die” Reunion Tour Campaign. It’s 21 tracks recorded live in Russia last year, and features the “classic” lineup: Edsel Dope, Acey Slade, Virus and Racci Shay. It’s actually part of a fundraising campaign to help them tour again. So far they haven’t raised much, but their first goal is a headlining tour of the US. Other goals include tours of Europe, the UK and Japan.

So if you remember Dope, love and miss them, and want to see them again- you can preorder the live album here.
