When you’re looking for political opinions, you probably don’t want to worry with so-called “fake news” outlets and go straight to the source, Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix, amirite? Yep, the  band, who’s Crooked Teeth album came out last week and whose debut album is turning 20 in 2000 (feel old yet?) might be best known for that album’s “Last Resort,” but that didn’t stop the singer from calling the current administration “a fucking shitshow” when asked about it by UK music mag NME.

“I’m on the ticket of ‘none of the above’. I am really not impressed with American politics and American politicians. The state of affairs is really fucking depressing, and it saddens me.”

He added: “In reality as I look at myself and I’ve lived this life I am beyond ‘Yeah I live in America, yes I pay taxes in America’, but beyond that I’m a fucking human being. You know what I mean? And to me that comes before anything, is that I’m a human being, and human beings deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and that’s what I strive for, that’s the standard that I hold to myself and to the people around me, and the current administration is just seems like a fucking shit show and I am not impressed, I am not a fan and I think we have a long way to go.”

There you have it. If there are any other nu-metal bands whose political opinions you’re interested in, we’re not going to ask. But if someone else does, we’ll probably write about it. Meanwhile, Papa Roach’s ninth album, Crooked Teeth, is available here.
