Volbeat, Anthrax and Crobot just wrapped up about six weeks of touring across the States and Canada this past Tuesday with a sold out show at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom. It was a pretty eventful tour for several reasons. First of all, both Volbeat and Anthrax got to perform songs from their forthcoming albums, neither of which has a release date yet. Also, Rob Caggiano famously left Anthrax and joined Volbeat and this was the first time since then that the two bands toured together. Also, Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante had to sit out the first portion of the tour after hand surgery. Regardless, the show on Tuesday went off without a hitch, counting as a homecoming for Anthrax, with Scott Ian’s father in attendance. Jerry Only from the Misfits came out and played with Volbeat. Metal Insider contributor Melinda Oswandel was there and captured all three bands for us.
