Reggie’s in Chicago was alive with the sound of metal on November 30, hosting a killer lineup of Idol Throne, Lutharo, and headliners Seven Kingdoms. Despite the disappointment of Striker’s early exit from the tour, the night more than delivered, treating fans to a mix of thrash, power, and melodic metal mastery.
Idol Throne, hailing from Highland, IN, kicked off the evening with a potent blend of thrash and power metal, setting a high-energy tone. While the crowd was sparse early on, the band’s infectious stage presence and razor-sharp guitar work quickly won over the room. By the time they had the audience chanting “to the gods” during “Last Voyage,” they had clearly made some instant fans.

Next up was Canada’s Lutharo, who brought a whirlwind of melodic thrash and power metal from Hamilton, ON. The crowd began filling out, matching the band’s unrelenting energy with enthusiasm. From the anthemic “Wings of Agony” to the epic “Lost in a Soul,” their dynamic set showcased their versatility and charisma. The band’s constant motion and playful stage antics ensured there wasn’t a dull moment, cementing them as a must-watch act.

Headlining the night was Seven Kingdoms, proving yet again why they’re one of the most exciting names in modern power metal. Despite vocalist Sabrina Valentine taking it easy due to illness, the band’s performance was nothing short of spectacular. Filling in on drums, Colton Zietler of Inhuman Condition brought a seamless rhythm to classics like “After the Fall.” While Seven Kingdoms can make even large venues feel personal, the intimate setting of Reggie’s amplified the connection between the band and their fans. Diamond hands were raised high during “Diamond Handed” and the crowd celebrated hearing most of the new songs off of the recent EP The Square. Their set masterfully wove highlights from across their discography, giving both longtime fans and newcomers a night to remember.
This show was a perfect blend of raw talent, relentless energy, and a community of metalheads coming together for the music they love. If this lineup is heading to your city, do not miss it!
