Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” officially has a whole new meaning as of Saturday (7th) when a woman gave birth during the group’s show in Curitiba, Brazil. Tattoo artist Joice M. Figueiró who was just 39 weeks pregnant, bought the tickets three years before the rescheduled event and attended Estádio Couto Pereira, part of Metallica’s long-awaited South American trek. While Figueiró was seated in the accessible section, she felt contractions throughout Metallica’s performance. Eventually, her water broke, and when she reached the outpatient clinic, there wasn’t enough time for her to be transported to the hospital. According to the tattoo artist, she recalls the band playing their final song of the night, “Enter Sandman,” when the baby was born. Metallica shared her story on Instagram, which you can see below:
