motorsisterLast year for Scott Ian’s birthday, the Anthrax guitarist assembled an all-star lineup to play music by one of his favorite bands, Mother Superior. The little-known band served as the Rollins Band’s backing musicians from 1997-2003. Scott got the band’s singer/guitarist Jim Wilson, John Tempesta of The Cult, his wife Pearl Aday (aka Meatloaf’s daughter), and Joey Vera of Armored Saint to jam at his house. It apparently worked out well enough that that they’ve formed an actual band, Motor Sister.

Motor Sister will be playing some shows before Anthrax jumps on the road with Volbeat later this year, and their debut one will happen on February 12th in Brooklyn at Saint Vitus Bar. Tickets are available here. According to the flyer for the show, the band’s debut album, Ride, will be out on March 10th on Metal Blade, although neither of the links (website or Facebook) are active at this point in time.
