Powerman 5000 have digitally released a re-recorded version of their hit song “When Worlds Collide.” The track is taken initially from 1999’s Tonight The Stars Revolt! However, the group revisited the classic tune during the recording sessions for their latest effort, The Noble Rot. The song was included as a bonus track on the CD edition, and it’s now available on digital platforms.

Frontman and founder Spider One explains:

“Re-recording ‘When Worlds Collide’ was like jumping into a time machine. We play that song live every night on tour but I hadn’t actually listened to the recorded version in a long time. So, when it came time to tackle the re-record, it was a weird process of trying to emulate myself. Which all these years later seemed like a stranger.”
